O. di ORL, Ospedale di Piacenza - Centro "AURIS"- Mantova * Unità Operativa di Otorinolaringoiatria, Ospedale “Carlo Poma” - Mantova Abstract The communication difficulties associated with a loss of hearing abilities can be seen as a complex event because psychological disconfort and relational inhibitions interact and lead to behaviours and attitudes which are insidious and dangerous for the quality of life of the patient. The complexity of the psychological-organic inconvenience, such as impairement disability and handicap led to use many diverse devices to try to compensate for hearing loss. This study presents the technological evolution of hearing devices and pays attention more to rehabilitation aimed at restoring the communicative and hearing functions to prevent an impairement disability.
